Christians are often intimidated by the book of Revelation. It seems so different from the rest of the New Testament, filled with strange images and startling events. What if I told you that this famous letter was written not to incite fear but to give comfort and hope?
The message of the book of Revelation is both deeply practical and a great summary of the theology of the New Testament as a whole. Its purpose is not to give us a detailed timeline of future events, but a Christ-centered vision of our present suffering as we await the fullness of our victory in Christ. We ignore our New Testament's canonical finale to our own peril. It's time we pay attention!
